Entering Scores and Updating Standings

Each week you or someone in your grouop will need to enter the scores from the games. If you're running NFL as your pool, this is a pretty trivial effort. Doing an entire Sunday takes about three minutes, five is your typing isn't so good. Here's the routine:

1. Go to whatever website you prefer to obtain the scores.

We use USATODAY because their page is quick to load and shows only what we need. We pull up that page and then open another window for jPickem. We place the jPickem window over the scores window so we can see both easily. Here's kinda what it looks like:

2. Now just enter the scores. If the game is final, then click the checkbox. Here's what that might look like:

3. Now head over to the scoring engine in jPickem and select the week you want to run.

That's all there is to it. If you want to update scores during the game, that's fine -- just don't click the Final checkbox. This will allow your players to view where they would be in the standings IF the games ended with the same score. (By the way, you will increase traffic if you update during the game)
