Does jPickem do MNF tie breakers?
Some pools use MNF (Monday Night Football) as the tie-breaker for awarding weekly winners. It's true, that in 16 game pools with many people, the chance of a tie certainly exists. In a normal 16 game week, the total number of possible points is 136... at 15 game week 120. You get the idea.
Sadly, In jPick, there is no MNF tie-breaker feature. However, two thoughts on this:
Thing 1 - Ties Don't Happen All That Often
Here are results from last year in a group of about 300 players. This gives you an idea of what kind of points are common on a weekly basis (for the NFL). (This by the way is a module that displays the top pickers each week. (it shows all players, not just the ones in your group)

Thing 2 - Try Point Multipliers
In jPickem, admins can assign what we call a point multiplier which changes the total number of points available in a week. It works like this: Each week you decide which game is the most difficult to pick, the game that will yield the lowest confidence. Go into that game record, and assign a point multiplier of 2. What that does is double whatever points are placed on that game. It encourages a bit of risk taking as a game that might normally get a confidence point of 1 suddenly requires more thought as the benefit can be large for those willing to gamble.
Be aware, this feature has been known to ruffle feathers of those at the top of the leaderboard. They believe, at least we've been told, it's not fair to allow some back-of-the-pack player to earn 32 points on a guess. In that I've never been at the top of the leaderboard, I've never agreed with that thinking.
So there you have it... my two thoughts on tie breaking. If you want to learn more about this, I believe you can find some details at League.com
